Radio Holland continues to be one of the leading maritime airtime providers in the Great Lakes Region

Airtime contracts renewed and extended with Algoma, CSL and ASC

Recently, Radio Holland Canada and Radio Holland USA celebrated the renewals of key airtime contracts on the Great Lakes with Algoma Central Corporation (ACC), The CSL Group (CSL) and American Steamship Corporation (ASC).

Collectively, the three companies operate approximately 65 Lakers which include tankers, self-loading and conventional bulk carriers. The companies signed initial agreements with Radio Holland in 2007. The new agreements include increased bandwidth to meet the growing needs for the companies’ business operations and crew welfare. ACC, ASC and CSL have signed multi-year agreements with Radio Holland based on incorporating HTS (High Throughput Satellite) satellite coverage when available, and with fleet wide modem upgrades. The modem upgrades ensure that overall performance and throughput will substantially improve and the VSATs on board will have a higher uptime also during rain periods.

Todd Wirchnianskyi Manager, IT Vessel Operations CSL states: “Ten years ago, when CSL and other Great Lake carriers decided to dive into the VSAT world, there were over a dozen companies vying to promote their services. RH enabled us to effectively determine our specific needs, and clearly presented the airtime and technology options. Their tailor-made turnkey package was exactly what we needed and differentiated them from the competition. The knowledge, support and flexibility of the Radio Holland VSAT team has strengthened the bond between our two historic companies.”

Jason Stoedter, Manager Vessel Systems with Algoma Corporation says: “With service and customer support that is literally out of this world, Algoma is happy to continue this great working relationship with Radio Holland.” Kevin Black, with Information Systems at ASC, states: “We’re happy to continue our relationship with Radio Holland. Solid, reliable communication between office and vessel is critical to ASC. Radio Holland has provided that for over 10 years.”

Robert VanderBaaren, Regional Manager of Radio Holland Canada: “The relationship that we have developed over the last decade is highly valued and key to Radio Holland’s position as prominent airtime provider in Canada. We are pleased that these companies have continued to place their confidence in Radio Holland and we look forward to working alongside them and assisting them with ongoing solutions within the area of Satellite communications and onboard ICT.”

Always there. Everywhere.
